It will be an avenue for camaraderie and friendship as the University of Uyo Postgraduate Students Union (POGRASU), formerly known as GRASA, sets to host its annual dinner and awards night.
The memorable event which has as its theme “Group Ideology: A Panacea for African Scholars Unification,” will hold tomorrow Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Bezaleel Event Centre on the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Road in Uyo.
Interacting with a cross section of Journalists and Bloggers in Uyo, the State capital, President of POGRASU, Uniuyo; Rev. Edidiong Archibong, said the occasion will be a night of fun, where postgrads will come together to celebrate their accomplishments and solidify relationships.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the accomplishments of our postgraduate students, who have dedicated themselves to their studies and achieved outstanding results. This event is a testament to their hard work and dedication, and we look forward to honoring their achievements and recognizing their contributions, not just to the university community but Akwa Ibom at large,” he said.
Rev. Archibong announced that a wide range of dignitaries will be in attendance at the momentous occasion. They include: the Vice Chancellor, UNIUYO; Prof Nyaudoh Ndaeyo and Dean, Postgraduate School; Prof. Bassey Antia, POGRASU Staff Adviser; Prof. Essien Akpanuko and the Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom State Command; SP Odiko MacDon who will be the Dinner Lecturer.
In addition to the esteemed guests already mentioned, the event will be graced by a number of prominent political figures, powerful business leaders, and influential entrepreneurs from within and beyond the borders of the state.
With the red carpet starting at 5pm, Rev. Archibong invites everyone to attend, stressing it will be an evening well spent with great food, entertainment, and the opportunity to celebrate the organization’s accomplishments.
