UYO VICE CHAIRMAN TO BURY MOTHER FEB 11

 

All is now set for the burial ceremony of late Deaconess Hannah Bassey Ekong, mother of the Vice Chairman, Uyo Local Government Council, Hon. (Pst.) Sylvia Ekong, FCAI.

According to an official statement signed by the eldest son of the deceased, Mr. Enobong Ekong, Deaconess Ekong, “a retired Senior School Principal, devoted Christian, virtuous wife and caring mother, who placed premium on the things of the LORD and humanity”, died on Friday, 2nd December, 2022 at the age of Seventy Three (73).

The eldest Ekong, further announced that the burial programme of ‘Mma Teacher’ will commence on Tuesday, 7th February to Thursday, 9th February 2023, with the OPENING OF MOURNING HOUSE at 43 Eka street, Uyo.

On Friday, 10th February, 2023 at 6pm, there will be SERVICE OF SONGS
at THE AFRICAN CHURCH, ST. STEPHEN’S CATHEDRAL, #25 Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo which will be followed by LYING IN STATE on Saturday,11th February, at 8AM at the Family Compound, # 43 Eka Street, Uyo. Akwa Ibom State.

He stated that the FUNERAL SERVICE will take place on Saturday,11th February at 10AM to be conducted by THE AFRICAN CHURCH, ST. STEPHEN’S CATHEDRAL at the Church premises located at #25 Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo. Sympathizers and Guests will be entertained at Christ the King Primary School, Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo, immediately after the Internment.

On Sunday, 12th February, the family announced that there will be a THANKSGIVING SERVICE at 10AM at THE AFRICAN CHURCH, ST. STEPHEN’S CATHEDRAL, #25 Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo.

Meanwhile, the Late Deaconess Ekong is survived by 7 Children (3 male and 4 female), 12 grandchildren, brother, aunties, cousins, inlaws, nephews, nieces and friends who have concluded plans to give the septuagenarian a befitting burial.
