…As Former First Lady Endorses Group
Akwa Ibom professionals under the aegis of ARISE Ambassadors have promised to pull their resources together and work assiduously to build public support for the ARISE agenda of Governor Umo Eno.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting held Wednesday in Uyo, the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT); Comrade Ernest Akpan, said the organization was a think tank that would play a key role in interpreting the Governor’s visionary plan aimed at propelling the state’s socio-economic growth and transforming the lives of its citizens.
Akpan, informed that the movement was the collective dream of some distinguished Akwa Ibomites from various professions and occupations.
The Ibesikpo Asutan born politician and Journalist, added that the Executive Council of the think tank was carefully selected based on the strength and capacity of members.
He observed that the BoT of the organisation attached huge importance to the movement and charged all to bring their wealth of experience to bear in discharging their duties.
Meanwhile, the think tank has Rev. Richard Peters as Chairman of the Executive Council, Ekomobong Peters as Vice Chairman while Thomas Thomas will serve as the Secretary.
Others include: Mr. Victor Ukpong; Director of Contact and Mobilization, Mrs Josephine Bassey, Director of Finance, Director of Protocol, Elder Uwem Ekoh, Director of Welfare; Engr Uwem Etuk, Mr. Imoh Etimudoh, Assistant Secretary, Pastor Victor Charles; Financial Secretary,
Mr. Sebastian Essien, Organizing Secretary, Henshaw Nyong; Director of Media/Publicity, Mr. Patryk Edeke; Director of Strategic Communications, Mr. Aniekeme Finbarr; Spokesperson and Barr. John Elijah; Legal Adviser.
The organisation also has Mr. Joseph Okon; Vice Chairman, BoT, Hon. Quincy Ukpong; member, BoT, Hon. Victor Robinson; Coordinator, Uyo Senatorial District while Comrade Mfon Ukime serves as the Coordinator, Ibesikpo Asutan Chapter.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman of the Executive Council, Rev. Richard Peters, commended the founders for empowering his team to lead the movement and fulfill its goals.
The Clergyman assured that the ARISE Ambassadors, under his leadership, would support and promote the programmes and policies of the Umo Eno administration, and spread its message throughout Akwa Ibom State and beyond.
In a related development, wife of the late former Military Administrator of the State; Her Excellency Mrs. Funmi Idongesit Nkanga, has lauded founders and members of the group for the immense support they gave to Pastor Umo Eno, which culminated to his resounding victory in the March 18 governorship election in Akwa Ibom.
Mrs. Nkanga, who is the Matron of ARISE Ambassadors, while playing host to members of the organisation, described as unprecedented, the monumental achievements recorded so far by the State Governor; Pastor Umo Eno.
The former First Lady expressed her satisfaction with the Governor’s performance, less than three months in office, noting that Governor Eno has fulfilled the mandate entrusted to him by the voters.
Mrs. Nkanga, while pledging her support for the organization, encouraged them to continue spreading the message of the ARISE Agenda far and wide, making an impact both locally and globally.
