The 2023 Akwa Ibom State Governorship Debate has received a boost with more partners endorsing and indicating interest to support the democratic exercise spearheaded by the Nigeria Union of Journalists – NUJ, Akwa Ibom State Council.
Latest on the list include Yiaga Africa, a non profit organization committed to the promotion of democratic governance, Nigeria Bar Association – NBA Uyo branch, Nigeria Medical Association – NMA, Akwa Ibom State chapter, as well as Akwa Ibom State Civil Society Organizations which is made up of the Guild of Community Development Advocates in Akwa Ibom State .
Confirming the partnership, the Chairman NUJ Political Committee, Comrade Aniekan Udofia said the committee alongside its partners are putting in place everything that will make the debate successful and provide the governorship candidates the biggest platform to share their plans with the people of the state.
He thanked the partners for trusting the NUJ to organize a fair and credible governorship debate, adding that their collaboration was a prove of the strong desire for good governance and accountability.
Udofia reiterated that the event which will hold on Sunday, 29 January 2023, at Ibom Icon Hotels and Golf Resort by 4 pm, will be strictly on invitation, explaining that the in-house audience shall remain inactive and only send in their questions to the question bank where moderators would harmonize them.
