YPP Has Taken Over Ukanafun – former PDP stalwart

 

 

The President, Ukanafun Redemption Group, Hon. Idorenyin Hutton Asuquo has hinted that the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has taken over Ukanafun Local Government Area.

Hon. Idorenyin Asuquo who spoke with journalists in Ukanafun shortly after he led over 120 members of the group to decamp to the Young Progressives Party (YPP), explained that the decision to decamp from PDP to YPP was due to the hardship and depression being faced by members of the group in the hands of some PDP leaders in Ukanafun. “By pulling out these numbers from all the Wards in Ukanafun today it means that the entire PDP structure has collapsed in Ukanafun”, said Hon. Asuquo.

The former PDP Councilorship aspirant declared that the main purpose of defecting to YPP was to bring together the elders, women and youths for economic development in Ukanafun.

It was gathered that during the defection ceremony, Hon. Idorenyin Asuquo had presented a letter to the YPP Governorship Candidate, Obong Bassey Albert Akpan (OBA).

In the letter, Hon. Asuquo stated that after due consultations with stakeholders, women and the youths, the group decided to decamp from PDP to YPP so as to mobilize for Obong Bassey Albert Akpan’s governorship ambition. “We the entire members of Ukanafun Redemption Group after due consultations with the stakeholders, elders, women and the youths, have decided to decamp from PDP to YPP to chart a common course for effective grassroots mobilization for your governorship ambition and other candidates of our great party, the YPP.

The President in the letter, assured the Governorship hopeful that the group will embark on a door-to-door, unit to unit and ward-to-ward mobilization and called on the entire people of Ukanafun to queue behind OBA as he has good plans aimed at empowering the youths, women, elders and the overall development of Ukanafun.

Receiving the letter, it was gathered that Sen. Bassey Albert Akpan thanked the group for their decision, assuring that his administration will focus on youths, women and elders empowerment.

It was also gathered that Hon. Idorenyin Asuquo has also promised to bring out more PDP members to YPP.
