The gubernatorial candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Senator Bassey Albert Akpan has assured Akwa Ibom people that the prevailing hunger in the state will be a thing of the past from 2023 when the YPP takes over governance in the state.
The Distinguished Senator made this known when he graced the official defection of the immediate past state organizing secretary of the PDP, Hon. Enobong Harry in Esit Eket on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
“Our work in YPP is very simple. For you to stop hunger in Akwa Ibom, you must vote in YPP. You said you are hungry, the PDP is the reason you are hungry”.
“We have the record of all the funds received by the state. I will challenge the Speaker to tell the people what all the monies were used for. The PDP wants consolidation. It is consolidation of hunger, and YPP will not allow that”, he declared.
OBA asked the people to take their destinies by their hands.
“Let me assure you, nobody can determine your destiny. The destiny of Esit Eket is in the hands of God, and you must take it by your hand. Your destiny is not for sell”, OBA charged.
He also promised series of empowerments.
“Every elected YPP government official will do empowerment programme every six months. I stand here as one man that has sent over 481 Akwa Ibom children to universities, including Esit Eket children. The YPP will ensure prosperity”.
“Thank you for supporting YPP with gladness. When you vote, stay there, make sure they count your vote. This is the way you can secure your vote which guarantees your future”, he added.
OBA said Hon. Enobong Harry made a good decision to join the YPP, since it is the best alternative.
The YPP candidate for Akwa Ibom South (Eket) Senatorial District, Mkpisong Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, urged the Esit Eket people to join the YPP since it is the only better alternative.
“Join the train before the train leaves the station. Support a Governor who knows your name, who has your phone number, who will respect you. I am here to welcome my brother, Enobong Harry to a party that will provide quality leadership to the people. He has left the sinking party, and has found refuge in the YPP”.
The ward chairman of Ward 2, Edo, Esit Eket, Hon. Emmanuel Mkpa, who handed over party card to Hon. Harry said he was grateful to God, the state chairman, Apostle Andy and the gubernatorial candidate, and assured the people that come 2023, the pains experienced in the state shall vanish.
Welcome to YPP my brother. You are well protected. Ward 2, Edo will give 100% of votes to the YPP. Nothing will stop that”, he assured.
The chapter chairman of YPP in Esit Eket, Hon. Samuel Etim said the party is different from any other party.
“YPP moves and spreads every second, and it is poised to change our state for better”, he observed.
Hon. Usoro Akpan – Uso, member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno in the state House of Assembly and 2023 YPP candidate for same office, said that the YPP will emerge victorious in next year’s elections.
“In YPP, I can assure you for free, we will win the elections in 2023. This is our Governor from 2023”.
Responding, Hon.Harry, said the state had no hope in his former party, and that God used Apostle Andy to bring a better party to the people.
“YPP has my individual and collective interests. Without Senator Bassey Albert, we would not have had a Governor, thank God for him. If there is any ward he will win election, it is ward 2, Edo”.
“People have massively registered, saying that they need a better Akwa Ibom”, he observed.
